OUR HUMBLE BEGINNING

FEAST2FEED was founded by a group of volunteers and established as an Incorporated Association in Sydney, Australia in September 2004, as a prelude to the United Nation's Initiative, World Food Day, held annually every October 16th since its inception in 1945 at a United Nations conference in Toronto, Cananda.

OUR MISSION: To eradicate hunger and make every day World Food Day. To be accountable to the public, and to make benefitting organizations accountable to everyone. To make giving and getting involved fun, interesting and worthy of your time. We the people of FEAST2FEED, from our management committee to all our global friends and partners believe in taking an action towards positive change and believe that a world without hunger is possible. We also believe that people that get invoved with making the planet a better place are some of the most beautiful people in the world. We want all of our "Friends" to go out to eat on October 16, 2005 Our 1st International Dine Out Day and demonstrate to the world that we care at participating FEAST2FEED affiliated restaurants found in our Global Restaurant Directory. Check it out, and if your favourite restaurant is not there, we will help you introduce them to this exciting hunger initiative. We also encourage you to give your business to companies that support issues that you care about, and ask you to look for the FEAST2FEED logo proudly displayed at participating restaurants. Tell them you are a "Friend of FEAST2FEED", as there are all kinds of perks that restaurants offer to the Friends network.

We also believe in the adage 'give me a fish and I will eat today, teach me to fish and I will never go hungry'. Our goal is not only to provide the necessary food to those without, as that is applying a social Band-Aid to a very grave issue. We are committed to education and raising awareness, creating a new methodology for ending hunger. In support of that initiative, we have initiated a relationship and provide financial support to the UN's Feeding Minds organization. One of our prime directives is to actively promote the implementation of the FMFH program in schools in throughout the world.

Our mandate at our October 21st launch is a commitment to lobbying for the teaching of the FMFH in every school, both public and private as a directive by the Federal Minister for Education in Australia. That is only just the beginning. Twenty percent of the funds that we raise will go to the furthering of the Feeding Minds program in developing countries throughout the world.
