Making Hunger History

On October 21, 2004 at Haris on the Park Restaurant, FEAST2FEED was officially launched into cyberspace. Concerned citizens, sponsors and volunteers heard our public commitment to raising funds and awareness towards the fight to end hunger and were greeted formally with a phonecall from Ms. Eva Clayton, of the United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome who congratulated us on our success with our launch.

FEAST2FEED's Founder, Stephenie Zacharia, inspired all with her insightful speech about the hunger concern and why we must do our part in eradicating the hunger plague.  In 2005, we launched  International Dine Out Day, in conjunction with the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization's October 16th initiative, World Food Day. We encourage everyone around the globe to dine out and show their support for the hungry. (Check out our Dining Directory of participating restaurants and find out if your favourite is on our list!)

We are a community of like-minded positive people who are committed to taking positive action. We believe that technology and innovation are under-utilized in the traditional non-profit sector, and we are innovators by way of being a virtual charity without borders or walls consisting of real-life committed volunteers. The Legacy Project is a great example of a bunch of beautiful people who believe in the power of one and our responsibility to aggressively fight the battle with HUNGER. Our Goal, 1 Million Friends of FEAST2FEED, will demonstrate to the world that we can work together, regardless of political affiliation, color, nationality, gender, or preference and give us a voice not yet audible. If you are not yet a Friend, we invite you to place your electronic thumbprint in history and etch your name in the foundation that we are creating today.

FEAST2FEED raises needed funds through our International Dine Out Day initiative and the donations that come from participating restaurants around the world. The funds we raise are disbursed to credible, worthy, and accountable organizations in Australia and developing countries who are fighting this war on Hunger. Organizations that scheduled to benefit from our 2005 exercise include Telefood,  The Sunrise Childrens Village in Cambodia, Adopt Sri Lanka, the Red Cross, and the UN's Feeding Minds Fighting Hunger Program.

We exist by the hands of generous Partners and Sponsors. (See the wonderful people behind what we are doing or those who made The MEANIES list.)
